Extension of the renowned Cervantino International Festival in Los Cabos
Los Cabos, Baja California Sur .- Los Cabos will host personalities from the performing arts of Colombia, Argentina and the Republic of Tuva next October, as part of the official program for the Cervantino International Festival (CIF), which is held every year in the state of Guanajuato, offering top-notch performances.
Alan Castro Ruiz, Director General of the Municipal Institute of Culture and Arts in Los Cabos, explained that the visit of these shows has been achieved thanks to good coordination between the Ministry of Culture and the Department of CIF Tours, who have managed to bring three events of the Cervantino program to the destination for the Los Cabos community to enjoy.
The program in Los Cabos will feature the presentation of Chango Spasiuk and his group, distinguished for winning the Carlos Gardel award on multiple occasions, as well as the “Revelation” award of the BBC London World Music Awards. They are also considered among the main exponents of the folklore of their country. Thanks to the CIF performances being held in Los Cabos, people can enjoy it on Tuesday, October 17th at the Main Theater of the Pabellon Cultural de la Republica (Cultural Pavilion) in Cabo San Lucas at 8:00 at night.
Also on Friday, October 27th, in the Main Theater of the Cultural Pavilion in Cabo San Lucas, Carmelo Torres and his Cumbia Sabanera will grace the stage, considered the “soul” of cumbia sabanera, with the Colombian accordionist.
Alan Castro Ruiz added that Carmelo Torres and his Cumbia Sabanera will also be presenting their show on Saturday, October 28th in a public square in San Jose del Cabo. Possibly at the Plaza Antonio Mijares, or on Boulevard Mijares, although the exact place and time of the concert is still to be determined.
Likewise, the XII Municipal Council will contribute as a sponsor for the presentation of Alash representing the Republic of Tuva, with the visit of the International Cervantino Festival program events. Promoted by the Baldor College in coordination with the community, this presentation is scheduled for October 24th at 7:30 pm at the Baldor College sports field.
